Hi! I am a PhD candiate in the Physics Department at New York University.
I work with light-activated soft matter. Simply speaking, I make tiny machines that are powered by light. These machines are designed with squishy matter like colloids, oils, gels, polymers, hence the name 'soft'!
I love building things, and some of the things I built during my time at NYU include a microscopic thin-film resitive heater, DNA-origami based machines, fuel-free colloidal swimmers and colloidal crystals, and 4 microscopes instumental in driving projects around the lab. I split my time between experiments in the wet-lab, the cleanroom and the optics lab, and also in front of my computer analyzing data and running simulations.
Check out my 'Research' page to know more about my projects. I am also actively involved in improving the way science is taught to students, through simple experiments, writing books, and conducting workshops.
