PhD Candidate at the University of California, Merced
I am a graduate student at the University of California, Merced. I am primarily interested in light-matter interactions in solid-state systems and the effects of phonons, strain, charge/spin noise, etc., on the optical response of these systems. I am currently studying the impact of surface chemistry and synthetic factors on the photophysics and radiative dynamics of the excitonic states in colloidal quantum dots. Previously, I worked on In(Ga)As coupled quantum dots in Schottky diodes and studied the interactions between excitonic states and trapped charge states, as well as tunneling excitonic states.
I received a joint BS/MS in physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, where I worked at the Photonics Lab (PI: Prof. R. Vijaya), where I investigated the amplification, spectral narrowing, and angular dependence of laser dye photoluminescence via coupling to Tamm Plasmon Polariton (TPP) modes in stacked dielectric structures.
