I was part of the collaborative team from IIT Jodhpur and Algo8.ai that used machine learning and first principles methods to solve the fouling problem in heat exchangers. I had taken this additional project during my M.Tech. tenure. My major tasks in this project were:
• Developing Industrial codes for tackling Pre-heat train fouling problem in 7 IOCL refineries
• Material and Energy Balance Reconciliation
• Developing custom Heat Exchanger Network Simulator
Guided by: Dr. Pradeep Kumar Tewari (IITJ), Dr. Angan Sengupta (IITJ) and Algo8.ai team.
Developed an empirical model and a comprehensive CFD model for an immobilized photocatalytic reactor. A differential photoreactor on loop was fabricated and experiments on the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B were carried out on it. With this, the apparent rate constant and photocatalytic space time yield was calculated in the empirical model. A comprehensive CFD model was also developed which incorporated the hydrodynamics, radiation profile, species transport and reaction kinetics. User Defined Functions (UDF) were also included to make the physics of the system more realistic.

Design and Construction of a counter-current Slurry Bubble Column Reactor.
Developed a correlation for bubble size of SBCR using Multi-variate Non-Linear Regression and Machine Learning Methods.
