Narges MOHAMMADI
Human rights journalist imprisoned in Iran
Extract of her interview with CNN :
The system of the Islamic Republic of Iran is built on the foundations of oppression, lies and deceit, that have rendered the conditions of communal and societal coexistence difficult, pushing Iranian society to the brink of collapse.”
Artin Rahmani was executed by the Iranian authorities on the 16th of November 2022.
The Iranian authorities accused this teenager of having protested against their regime.
He sent one last message to his mother.
« Mum, I’m sorry –
I know that the path I have chosen might prevent you from seeing my youth. For a mother whose greatest wish was to
see her child in the years of his youth.»
With a heart heavy but filled with courage, his mother replied with the following message:
“My dear Artin, how could you have known? What demon tormented you in your sleep?
I, apart from the fairy tale about the fish in love and the cavaliers in white, never sought to scare you with dark stories, my love!
What demonic serpent (Azhdhak) have you seen in your nightmares? What dark-clad hangman has scared you into sending me a farewell letter?
You left your youth behind in my dreams. I see you every night. Your hair is a bit longer.
You have reached the olive tree in the corner of the garden. You come out from the corner of the alleyway with a group of the most beautiful young adults in the country, singing the hymn of liberation and of freedom, my dearest Artin.
I promise you, on the path you have decided to take, you will not be disappointed. Alas, I have perhaps not fulfilled my role as a mother, but your name will be eternally engraved in the history of our homeland,
The child of all bereaved mothers, Soldier of the freedom of Iran.
We will never be ashamed of you. We will ruin them and destroy them once and for all.”
