👉🏼Keep in mind that the BEST fidgets are simple and fade into the background. If they are too fun and exciting it can actually backfire, as your child will focus more on the fidget then the task they are supposed to be doing.
These have a rough surface kids can rub- place them on folders, books, under table surfaces (or desks), etc.
My fave!! Great for kids who hate to write or who have a hard time staying focused. Use as an incentive: complete a row of math problems without complaining- they get to choose a new scent for the next row.
As an OT I use this is school with kids with ADHD all the time! Great for sensory seekers or kids who need lots of movement.
A great tool! Breathing can be a great way to calm or focus the nervous system but kids often think it's boring. Breathing in as they open the sphere and breathing out as they close it makes it much more interesting!
Great for a quick brain break to break up a long or boring task. Can also be used as praise or a reward- kid finishes homework without a meltdown, it's party pickle time!
