I play flute in the TCU marching band. With the band, I play at home games and travel to away games. I have so much fun cheering on the Horned Frogs!
I have an older brother, Bruce, who is a junior at the University of Notre Dame. He is a business major and is also a member of the marching band for his school. We are extremely close and hope to one day compete on the Amazing Race together.
You can always find me out and about getting active. I love taking spin classes, participating in 5K, and doing whatever gets me moving.
Warm weather and I get along very well. I have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona my entire life up to moving to Fort Worth.
My parents are the absolute best. They support and encourage me to work at my fullest potential everyday.
I love exploring the Internet for fun and healthy recipes. While the dish may not always be successful, the process of attempting each dish will always be fun.
Reflecting back on my life prior to coming to TCU, I notice that education had always played a crucial role in my life. My mom was a teacher in the Philippines prior to moving to America. She carried with her the Filipino culture of education being top priority and passed on that ideology to me and my brother. She constantly reminded us of the true value and precious gift of opportunity that education offers. With her influence, my interest for the teaching profession grew.
When I was six years old, I was given a miniature white board and a pack of Expo markers for my birthday. Although small, this white board led me to discover a passion of mine that persists with me today: teaching.
Growing up, I had a wild imagination; I transformed my dining room into a classroom, the living room into a library, and the kitchen into a cafeteria. With my white board, I imagined myself as a teacher. I planned lessons via my dad's old laptop, printed worksheets, and even made my friends sit though my "fake" lectures (and to my surprise, they complied to listen)!
Besides TCU, here of some of my favorite things: oatmeal, indoor spin classes, working out, long walks through Costco, peanut butter everything and anything, Pinterest, the Obama family, avocados on all things and in all forms, felt pens, pizza cookies, audiobooks about self-improvement, and spending time with my family and friends.
