The author, Adela Villalpando, is from a large family of ten. Being the second oldest, she assumed the responsibility of caring for her siblings, nurturing a profound love and care for children. Adela resides in a quaint town named Elsa, Texas, situated in the Rio Grande Valley, where she has spent the majority of her life. During her upbringing, her family would migrate to California each summer to work in the fields.
Following her high school graduation, Adela married her loving husband, Manuel Villalpando. They are proud parents of four children: Melinda, Nicolas, Rodolfo, and Victor, and grandparents to Matthew and Christian. Despite their busy lives, the family has always prioritized creating lasting memories together.
Adela has dedicated her life to children, having worked for Head Start as a classroom teacher, center manager, disability coordinator, and family coordinator. She has also been an active community member, teaching Bible classes for several years. Adela values children for their honesty and humor and has been teaching Pre-K and kindergarten for the past fifteen years at Monte Alto I.S.D. Monte Alto is a tight-knit community where everyone collaborates to assist those in need.
Fulfilling her dream of becoming an author, Adela, an educator, plans to continue writing. She aspires to inspire both children and adults to realize that they are capable of achieving their dreams through hard work and perseverance. Never give up on your dreams.
