At this time the film contest has concluded. Please stay tuned for final results and for further announcements!
Are you a filmmaker looking for a challenge? Do you want to be part of a social change initiative and take home cash prizes?
Create a 15 second - 1 minute long movie that conveys the following theme:
Drug use can quickly spiral out of control.
“No one thinks they will become an addict when they first start using drugs.”
People often think they can control their drug use habits. However, once they start, they can easily lose control.
It can be very hard for someone who is not addicted to understand how powerful addiction is. Many young people start drugs due to social pressure and the influence of their friend groups. They think it is “cool” to do drugs and that it is just for fun.
Many people think that all drugs are equally addictive, when in fact heroin and other opioids are far more addictive than drugs like alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana.
Punjab is experiencing a major opioid epidemic. Through this film contest, participants are expected to develop short entertaining videos that effectively convey the dangers and consequences of drugs and addiction.
