Heading north from RI 102 in Glocester. Hey, that shield is not bold-faced!
Nearing RI 98 in Glocester.
From the Massachusetts state line in far northern Burrillville. The sign says Entering Pascoag, which is not wrong, but technically isn't correct either.
Approaching the junction of Wallum Lake Rd. and East Wallum Lake Rd. where RI 100 SB takes a sharp turn to the right. So sharp, in fact, that stop signs were warranted.
After the big bend, we find what appears to be a hand-painted hill warning sign. South Shore Rd. is at the bottom of said hill.
This large brick building which suddenly appears from the otherwise densely wooded road is the power plant at the Eleanor Slater Hospital - Zambarano Unit.
A stone marker at the southern extent of the hospital grounds. Whatever was on this side has been removed, though I believe the opposite side still has its plaques.
Found what appears to be an old alignment just after the hospital! If I had had more time, I would've stopped to explore. The speed limit returns to 40 mph here.
Shield at the southern end of the old alignment. Notice how the pavement begins to widen at the bottom of the second photo. Last photo is at the end of the northern branch of Buck Hill Rd.
At the end of the southern branch of Buck Hill Rd. with a sign for Cub World, a boy scout campground. Can't get the town to put up a deer crossing sign? Just do it yourself! At least, that's how they do it in Rhode Island.
Most of the shields on this road are wide and bold-faced, so you'd be hard-pressed to find any narrow shields. The school bus stop warning appears to be fairly old and definitely not MUTCD-standard. How come two signs were needed to sign Jackson Schoolhouse Rd? Was there not a more efficient way of doing that?
At Eagle Peak Rd. then East Wallum Lake Rd. reconnects. SB shield comes just after E. Wallum Lake. Now into Pascoag for real, the speed limit drops as the road becomes windier and more densely settled.
Big curve after Laurel Hill Ave./Marion Ave. At Broad St. with a fairly old sign for Church St. lower on the pole.
Coming to the end of Church St. at Pascoag Main St./High St./the CVS parking lot. Another bold-faced wide shield directs traffic to the left before the stop sign.
Now in downtown Pascoag, RI 100 meets RI 107. Notice how the south banner is not centered over the RI 100 shield.
Junctions progress from south to north.
RI 102 NB at RI 100 NB in the Chepachet section of Glocester.
RI 102 SB approaching RI 100 NB in Chepachet.
RI 107 at its western end in Pascoag, though I took this picture going EB.
