Curving left at Montgomery Rd. in Huntington.
With MA 9 EB in Cummington at the western end of Main St. But wait, take a closer look at that first paddle sign. Notice anything? No? MA 112 runs south-north, never east-west. At this moment, it's traveling nearly due east, so I can understand signing it EAST, but just where did WEST come from? The sign doesn't appear to have been repaired, so what happened here? Perhaps I ask too many questions.
Continuing NORTHward through Cummington, more (correct) paddle signs at the eastern end of Main St. followed by shields after Thayer Corner Rd. Sadly, MA 9 preemptively loses its friend after passing the eastern end of Old Rt. 9.
Shields after Loomis Rd. and Spruce Corner Rd. in the Lithia section of Goshen. Blurry paddle signs as we separate from MA 9 in Goshen.
Jumping up to MA 2 to cross the Deerfield River from Buckland to Shelburne. The MA 2A designation was removed from State St. in 2007 but recent route logs appear to show it as MA 2A again. Is it back from the dead?!
Taken while heading south, this NB-facing paddle sign is at the end of Hope St. in Shelburne Falls.
Second SB shield from the Vermont line in Colrain, notice the bridge over the North River in the background. Then turning right at Main Rd in Colrain and finally curving right at Call Rd, also in Colrain.
Blurry SB shield just before MA 112 turns left onto Hope St. in Shelburne Falls then a paddle sign pointing down Hope St.
Turning left onto Mechanic St. with a narrow 112 shield and Scenic Byways trailblazer. Even though the picture is dark, you can make out the paddle signs at the MA 2 junction. Last pic is the opposite side of the assembly in the second pic and it faces SB traffic on Mechanic St.
With MA 2 though I missed the MA 112 shield after Mechanic St. in Shelburne (first pic). Caught a glimpse of the local wildlife in the aptly-named BUCKland. Oh, wait, she's a doe. Never mind. Last pic shows how MA 2's shield width influences MA 112.
Separating from MA 2 in Buckland.
Shield after Pine St. in Huntington. Southern terminus at US 20 with a sign for the State Police Barracks in Russell.
Junctions progress from south to north.
At the end of Montgomery Rd. in Huntington.
MA 9 EB approaching MA 112 in Cummington
Bridge St. in Shelburne Falls, which is part of the potentially-resurrected MA 2A. These paddle signs are WB approaching Main St.
NB on State St. (zombie MA 2A) in Shelburne Falls approaching MA 2/112 with shields and paddle signs. Yes, the same signs are shown in two separate pictures.
MA 2 EB at MA 112 in Buckland. The SB paddle is fine but oddly enough MA 112 NB is ignored here.
