Collection of signs along CT 190/32 in Stafford Springs. First sign is dark but it's a side road warning with RR tracks, before Spring St. The very arrow-y sign in the second pic is now gone. 190 then splits from 32 at a traffic circle in front of Stafford's town hall. I like the green posts holding up the shields, they're unique! We quickly turn right for East Main St. as 190 leaves downtown.
Heading up East Main St., we junction with CT 19. I like the cute wooden sign for Mattesen Lane in the second pic, it looks homemade. EB shield and location guide follow.
Large side road warning approaching Stafford St. with the next shield immediately after the curve. The next side road warning is before Rockwell Rd. Last shield is between Rockwell Rd. and Fenton Rd.
Shield and 4-way intersection warning before Michelec Rd./South Rd. in Stafford. Crossing the Union town line with an EB shield immediately after. The 190 shield is actually visible in my uncropped pic of the town line sign.
Cracked curve sign in Union; CT 89 junction with state name I-84 shield. EB shield after 89 (stolen from the background of pic #3).
Coming to the end of CT 190 at CT 171. Curiously, there is a truck banner over the 171 west shield. CT 171 Truck doesn't exist, so my guess is that since 171 west is the best truck route from here, that's why it's signed that way.
First WB shield leaving CT 171 before 190 bears right at Town Hall Rd. in Union.
Junctioning I-84 with a new state name shield. Notice the CT 171 shield pointing down 190 EB, it really should have a TO banner.
Junctioning CT 89. How come 89 doesn't get a directional banner?
Old-ish shields into Stafford before coming to CT 19.
Old shield in Stafford Springs (which has been replaced) and guide signs supported by a single post, look closely! Coming up to CT 32 in downtown Stafford Springs then CT 140 suddenly appears.
CT 32 splits away with shields and a Massachusetts-esque paddle sign. The order of CT guide signs often confuses me: why have Springfield, MA first?
Finally we junction with the short CT 319. This intersection used to meet at a sharp angle, but it has since been converted into a rotary. FYI: rotary is Boston-speak for roundabout, or circular intersection if you really want to get technical.
Shield after CT 319 (everything near CT 319 has been replaced, so it's now gone). Approaching the CT 30 junction, the shield on the junction assembly is fairly old and has been replaced. Wide shield after CT 30 with appropriately ordered guide signs.
Next junction, now with CT 83 in Somers. Nice old shields at CT 83 which seem to have an issue with fading 3s; these have been replaced. Shield and guide signs follow, but the nearest location is inexplicably placed last!
Fairly old shields at CT 186 in Somers and CT 191 in Enfield, though the kerning (fancy word for spacing) seems off on the 191 shields.
New wide WB shield after CT 191 and another wide shield in the junction assembly. Thankfully some older shields survive at CT 192 before we return to wide shields immediately after the intersection.
Good ol' state name shield in the junction assembly and WB shield assembly after Phoenix Ave. in Enfield. Though it's hard to tell, the exit signs for I-91 are fully button copy!
Exit sign for US 5 with a WB shield immediately after the exit. The junction assembly comes on the other side of the Enfield-Suffield Veterans Bridge, on the Suffield side.
Cracked shields while with CT 159 in Suffield. ConnDOT, you can't junction the route you're on! At least everything's fine in the last pic as CT 190 separates from CT 159.
Very small font for a shield across from Cassotta Ave. in Suffield. Coming to the end of CT 190 at CT 75, I've realized this is one of only a few roads I've driven the whole length, albeit only the westbound side.
Junctions progress from west to east.
Shield assembly for CT 190/159, facing WB traffic on Thompsonville Rd. in Suffield.
CT 140 EB coming to its end with some beautiful old shields!
At the end of Exit 73 on I-84 EB.
CT 171 WB at CT 190. Always glad to see state name I-84 shields.
