Adam Odenwelder is an internationally published ASCAP arranger and award winning educator. He has over 10 years of experience in public education. He specializes in flexible guitar ensemble arrangements.
Adam graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Upon graduating, he began teaching elementary music at Bailey's Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in Falls Church, Virginia. During that time, he was a member of the Changing Education Through the Arts committee, which collaborated with the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to bring vibrant and meaningful arts integrated education to the classroom.
After 5 years of teaching elementary school, he took a position at Mercer Middle School in Loudoun County, Virginia. There he taught choir, band and strings. He is currently teaching at Belmont Ridge Middle School, where he primarily teaches guitar ensemble.
Adam is a firm believer that music education needs to be accessible, meaningful, and above all, fun. He began publishing his arrangements through the Hal Leonard company in 2023 because he was unsatisfied with the guitar ensemble repertoire that was available. Because he arranges most of the songs his ensembles perform, his students have been given the opportunity to play a wide array of genres including classical, jazz, movie soundtrack, yacht rock, punk, emo and metal.
In 2025, he was named one of Yamaha's 40 under 40, being recognized as an outstanding young music educator who is making a difference by growing and strengthening his music program.
