I’m Adam Tan: a writer, video game developer, and YouTuber. Online I go by Megapig9001 and run a YouTube Channel with over 15,000 subscribers. I have experience writing history and analysis videos (with my video Bad Apple Explained having over 1 million views) and talk mainly about the Touhou Project series of video games.
I’ve also made several video games, which can be found on my itch.io. The majority of them are Touhou Project fangames (Touhou Project has community guidelines that allow for fangames to be published for free or commercially when done as a small developer). A lot of my fangames are story-based, and one of them (Touhou: Protest in Perspective) won best writing at the eleventh Touhou Game Jam (out of fifty other games). I like exploring the intersection of storytelling and gameplay, whether that be through my games or through my videos. In addition to these projects, I've also written a fanbook set in the world of Touhou Project (Violet Origins) and even sold physical copies of the book at a convention.
Outside of work on YouTube and Video Game Development, I love to play video games casually, as well as play online Chess. I currently work as a part-time Chess teacher. I am also passionate about being autistic, and have presented at the California Speech and Hearing Association Convergence Convention on ways to do neuro-diversity affirming Speech Therapy.
