This image shows a wide, four lane asphalt paved road in residential Burlington, VT, immediately south of the Winooski River on Colchester ave. On the left there is a Domino's Pizza restaurant and on the right there are some trees with fall foliage. This is different from the original in that there is pavement on the sidewalk and in the road. There is also different placement of power lines and more street lights in the reshoot. This image shows the same location based on the narrowing of the road further up the street, the angle that riverside ave intersects Colchester on the right and the placement of the buildings. The building center-right may be the same building.

This image shows a two lane asphalt road, a paved walking/bike path and a treed area composed mainly of fill. There is a obvious two door garage across the street from the site which is the primary identifying feature that confirms that this shot is the same as the 1930s image. The curvature of the road also provides evidence of the location. This photo was taken on the north side of Riverside ave at the sharp curve immediately south of Salmon hole. As shown in the modern picture, the road has been significantly widened through the dumping of fill over wooden reinforced structures. This area is now lightly treed on top of the fill and more heavily treed on the slope adding to the reinforcement of the slope.
