戏炬奖 简介
戏炬奖，由【凭舞台咨询与服务】于2001年设立，志在表扬和肯定中文戏剧工作者的努力和付出，提升中文戏剧的创作水准。于2007年正式授权予【ASLI戏剧联盟】主办。
历届 戏炬奖 都得到很高的评价，不但是中文剧场人―回家团聚的大日子，更是受到电视和平面媒体的大力支持，广传报道；除了表演艺术界朋友共同欢庆以外，各界名人、电视艺人、电台DJ、电视主持、政界重要部长等也都应邀参与其盛。
‘戏炬奖’是大马中文戏剧唯一纯舞台戏剧的颁奖礼, 也是本地中文戏剧界的一大盛事, 让来自全国各地的剧团, 戏剧工作者, 剧迷和各界人士一起参与其盛, 给予肯定及见证舞台戏剧艺术水平的提升。
宗旨

名称源起
名称源起
‘戏炬’取自‘戏剧’的谐音。
‘炬’为火炬，代表热情燃烧的火把，烈火不熄。火炬更有‘传承’的意义，意味着民间戏剧艺术薪火相传。
另，‘炬’谐音‘具’，取‘面具’的意思。面具古时称面谱，而面谱一直以来都是象征着‘戏’的图腾。
因此，‘戏炬’有着‘戏剧’、‘火炬’、‘面具’的三种诠释。
戏炬奖奖杯：
奖杯的整体设计取自‘火’的造型，而火中有面谱的图案，是‘火炬’与‘面谱’的结合，象征着戏剧艺术燃烧成一把熊熊烈火，生生不息。火炬是一个耀眼的焦点，‘戏炬奖’是剧场界年度努力的目标。
ASLI 戏剧联盟 简介
早年，马来西亚中文戏剧工作者对于推动本地戏剧，以及培育戏剧人才都不遗余力。当时戏剧界有许多出类拔萃的剧场工作者、也不乏许多让人难以忘怀的演出制作，这一切都是本地戏剧工作者不断努力开创的成果。然而，各剧场工作者或各剧团之间皆未达至有效的发展共识和资源共享，导致大马戏剧工作者犹如―身处文化沙漠里的艺术孤儿。
为了凝聚每一个剧团、每一位戏剧工作者的热忱与力量，吴友凭、贺世平、吴国煌、刘锦康、黄菲立、杨佩丽及林彦杉，于2005年挺身而出，积极筹备联盟，并于2006年2月9日成功注册成立至今。第一任主席为吴友凭、第二任主席为黄爱明博士、第三任主席为孙春美。第四任主席为贺世平，以及现任主席为吴友凭(2023-2025， 2026-2028)
目前，戏剧联盟共有近百位会员。
INTRODUCTION
Ping Stage launched the annual “Ada Drama Award” in year 2001 by means of showing respect, encouragement and recognising the contribution from the local drama artists and workers. ASLI was officially authorised to organise the “Ada Drama Award Ceremony” in the year 2007.
“Ada Drama Award” is the only Chinese award ceremony recognising pure drama performance being held in Malaysia. Nation-wide troupes, drama artist and workers, drama fans and public from all social circles would gather and participate in this grand event to affirm and witness the upgrading standards in the art of stage drama.
Previous “Ada Drama Awards” has obtained high prestige. Celebrities, TV artist, Radio DJ and well-known TV host were invited to participate in this event. It had attracted several media from television and press reporting on the ceremony. Furthermore, several ministers from the relevant ministries had shown their support as well by attending the ceremony.
OBJECTIVE
1. To encourage, inspire & reward a broader diversity of performing art in local creative productions with the intent of nurturing their talent.
2. Created to support the development of local performing art in drama.
3. Praise the regard and contribution to our local artistes in drama.
The meaning of “ADA Drama Award”
* “ADA” as a word in Bahasa Malaysia which contains the meaning of “GET” or “HAVE”
* By GETTING all talents from different industries especially in the performing arts and by HAVING interesting stories to inform public through the performance.
* “Ada Drama Award” would like to obtain more support from honourable individuals by way of co-operating internationally or nation-wide.
