Ad Replication Status Tool 1.1 ((INSTALL)) Download

I know I can use repadmin with various options on the command line to query the status. I thought about creating a script they could run when they are interested in the status, but they will probably be more interested in some kind of status page.

I realize this question is super-old, but this tool just recently came out, and this post came up while I was searching for it because I couldn't quite remember the name, and so I'll just leave this here in case anyone else passes through looking for this tool like I just did:

Do you actively need to actively view the current status? Earlier this year I wrote an Exchange Monitoring script that I published to the -us. On problems (or certain thresholds exceeded), I have it run as a scheduled task which alerts as needed. (I also duplicated part of it in perl to run from our Linux environment in case a non-fault tolerant part breaks so that the vbs can't alert, the perl/Linux version can.)

Ive become so reliant on this great tool and was going to use it as a fast GUI check while I was away overseas over Xmas, to check that all was well on AD.

What to do now? I dont like the old Repadmin/ DcDiag type tools. You could accidentally miss something. What now MS? You guys make us break our bones keeping up with certs, perhaps we need persistent tools? Not cool boys.

Nirmal, it looks promising although not very intuitive. Visitors can judge for themselves. On the other side I like the profundity shown on the screenshots. May I speculate that this is more like a tool for PFEs/MVPs?

Active Directory Replication Status Tool is very nifty application providing information about potential problems in replication between domain controllers. As important this is nobody has to explain. Any problems in replication can and usually have serious impact on whole Microsoft infrastructure.

Unfortunately since the last days it's no longer possible to get the AD Replication Status Tool from Microsoft. Instead users are prompted to use Microsoft Operations Management Suite. The tool itself is very nice, and free for 500mb of data being sent to the cloud. It offers multiple other options such as AD Assessment, Alert Management, Malware Assessment and many more giving administrators lots of additional monitoring options. The 500mb limit is more than enough for even monitoring multiple domain controllers. However not everyone has the ability to run cloud tools in their environment.

(April 4), Microsoft has decided to re-release the original version of the Active Directory Replication Status Tool at the original link. Before February 2016, as an Active Directory administrator, you could use the free Active Directory Replication Status Tool from Microsoft on your non-Internet connected Domain Controllers and see the status of their replication.

Working for a federal agency the amount of paperwork I would have to generate to even start asking for permission to use OMS makes this change ridiculous. Was a great simple troubleshooting tool, maybe someone with some Powershell chops can make a new one, I hate when MS takes a simple thing and overly complicates it to force new agendas on its users

Please bring back the AD replication status tool. This is a backward step which is a view shared by others.

Having it online makes no sense since i would have to login to access it (i think i might have worked out that there was a problem with AD before then)

Last week I was trying to test one replication scenario for AD, and I downloaded latest AD replication status tool (Product version: 3.22.415.100). After I installed it, i tried to run it but it crashed. Event log give next error.

This tools looks really useful and it is a pity that the license has expired. Any links to a version that does not expire. I am having trouble with a Windows Server 2003 AD instance and would love to be able to use this for troubleshooting. Does anyone know of an alternative tool I could try?

Microsoft has officially published AD Replication Status tool (which have graphical user interface) finally! I actually have used repadmin for years but this is cool tool if you are familiar with UI than command prompt.

The first command you should use is replsummary. This command will quickly show you the overall replication health. This command will show you the percentage of replication attempts that have failed as well as the largest replication deltas.

It is normal to see items in the queue. If you have a small environment it will often be at zero because there are few replications that occur. If you notice items sitting in the queue and they never clear out, you have a problem.

Use the following command if you want to force replication between domain controllers. You will want to run this on the DC that you wish to update. For example, if DC1 is out of sync I would run this on DC1.
