We all experience hardship. I believe that counseling is a powerful tool to help us navigate our daily journey and grow. In the midst of adversity, we can cultivate strength and reach goals that may seem impossible. Through our hardships, we can reach the stars.
Great to meet you!
My mission is to empower individuals and families to identify and achieve their goals. I partner with clients to identify their needs and strategies to reach their goals. My role is to help identify and expand their strengths through focusing on skills such as communication, emotional regulation, coping, feeling identification and self-advocacy.
My clinical experience has included working with children, families and older adults in schools, residential programs and community-based agencies. I've had the opportunity to help individuals and families navigate times of stress, conflict, anger, anxiety and grief.
I tailor treatment to each person to find an approach that fits with their needs and experience. I typically utilize the following approaches:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - the practice of reframing your thoughts to help change your emotions and behaviors
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - the practice of accepting your thoughts and emotions, rather than being shamed by them
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) - specific to trauma, the practice of challenging learned beliefs from the experienced trauma
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)- goal-focused, the practice of change through constructing solutions to alleviate struggling
