Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the Scottish Rite Cathedral has been part of the city’s history for more than a century. Completed in the 1920s, this remarkable Classical Revival building is known for its monumental architecture, beautiful interior spaces, historic theater, library and museum, and distinctive bronze doors created by renowned sculptor Pompeo Coppini.
Beyond its architectural history, the Scottish Rite continues to serve the San Antonio community through educational, cultural, charitable, and community programs. The Cathedral welcomes visitors for events and offers opportunities to learn more about the building and its history. Contributions also help support the preservation of the Cathedral and its educational and cultural programming.
The Cathedral is also home to the Scottish Rite Learning Center of South Texas, a nonprofit organization established in 1984 that provides dyslexia therapy and educational services, including instruction for students at no cost to their families and specialized training for educators.
