Often in education, the students who are not neuro-typical, are perceived to lack the ability to be academically successful.  Yet, it is my job as an educator to presume competence - to find a way to help students demonstrate their knowledge that is meaningful and makes them feel successful.

All students can learn and succeed, but not in the same way and not in the same day.
