Evolution of acting

What is the history of acting?

The origins of acting are in the act of remembering. Acting may have begun as early as when Egyptian actor-priests worshiped the memory of the dead. The first professional acting may possibly have been developed in CHINA. (WHAT!?)

The person who invented acting was Thespis from ancient greece, the world's FIRST actor, & the origin of theatre term thespian. Some believe he was also a priest for the Greek God, Dionysus, god of food and wine.

Konstantin Stanislavsky (sometimes spelled as "Stanislavski") is the father of modern acting. He wanted to "experience" a role rather than "preform" a role has influenced every acting technique we know this year. Stanislavsky  wrote notes as he developed his system.
