Belts and Grading

• All newcomers start with a white belt (Grade 10). The grades then progress to yellow (Grade 8), green (Grade 6), Blue (4), Red (2), and then Black belt, 1st Dan, 2nd Dan, 3rd Dan......

• Gradings are held towards the end of each term if enough members are ready to grade for their next belt. 

• All grading is conducted against an independent standard and is based purely on the member’s ability to attain the level proficiency required.

Competitions or Taekwondo Sport

• Each year there are local, regional and National Taekwondo competitions. Competitions are usually split into two categories; Poomsae (patterns) and Kyorugi (refereed fights). 

• Kyorugi (Sparring) consists of three rounds and participants are fully kitted in protective head, chest, leg and arm equipment. Participants only compete against opponents of similar belt, weight, gender and height.

• Members are encouraged to participate in at least one competition per year. Competition helps to bring the practical application to the training within a safe and controlled environment.

Uniform:

• Beginners are able to wear appropriate exercise clothing until they are able to purchase a uniform

• All members are required to have a full Taekwondo uniform.

• A full sparring kit is also recommended 

• These can be purchased through the club

Fees:

Fees are to be paid every school term (10 weeks)

• Kids under 18yrs = $200.00 (per term for classes 2x a week)

• Adults 18 yrs + = $250.00 (per term for classes 2x a week)

Uniform fees:

• Uniform = $50 - $150 (depending on size)
