Focusing on retaining talented and experienced teachers can provide a stable, supportive, and structured learning environment for all students. Providing teachers with common planning time can help them streamline the use of digital resources and programs. Administrators can support co teaching efforts by pushing for additional educational technology initiatives that can help students and teachers meet future challenges. To attract qualified teachers to special education, we need to provide them with the support they need. This includes reducing the amount of paperwork they must do so they can focus on teaching. Special education teachers need time to be successful, and paperwork takes away from that time. The purpose of co teaching is to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can access the curriculum. Co teaching with station teaching has been shown to improve student learning outcomes, increase teacher satisfaction, and promote professional development. In conclusion, this study found that co teaching with digital stations is an effective way to improve the academic outcomes of sixth-grade students. However, more research is needed to understand the long-term effects of this strategy and to identify ways to address the inequity in resources that continue to negatively impact students with disabilities.
To address these challenges, the study recommends:
Increasing small-group teaching opportunities in secondary classrooms through co teaching with digital stations.
Providing more social-emotional support for students.
Addressing the needs of students with disabilities and other marginalized identities.
Investing in research on the best ways to support students during and after the pandemic.
