ACTAA Second Vice President is a two-year termed position (April 2024-April 2026) that is successive to the First Vice President position (April 2026-April 2028), then President position (April 2028-April 2030) and finally the Past President role (April 2030-April 2032). The immediate responsibilities of the Second Vice President are to serve on the Executive Council, shadow the First Vice President and chair the Summer Workshop Planning Committee.
Dariane LyJoi Mull (M.Ed, MPS) is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Clinton School of Public Service and is now the Drama Teacher at Pinnacle View Middle School. A graduate of Little Rock Central High, she is honored to have been a part of ACTAA as a student and educator. She is an active teacher as well as artist within her community! As she enters her 8th year in education, she is not just a Drama Teacher at Pinnacle View but also a Forensics Coach and Jr. Thespian Troupe Director to her students. She is passionate and feels incredibly blessed to be in her dream career and strives each day to impact students through the arts. In 2021, she was awarded Middle School Teacher of the Year for Little Rock School District. As an artist, she could last be seen in Rent (Ensemble, u/s Joanne). Her other theatrical credits include in The Color Purple (Sofia), Next to Normal (Diana), Stage Manager for 13: The Musical, Memphis (Ethel/Bessie), Sound of Music (Nonnberg Nun), Spongebob the Musical (Karen), and Songs for a New World (Woman 1). She is currently Assistant Stage Manager for Bring It On: The Musical at Argenta Community Theater and will return this holiday season as a director for Black Nativity with Actors Theatre of Little Rock, where she is a founding member and serves as the President of their board.
Jessica has been a member of the ACTAA community for too many years to count. As a proud product of the ACTAA world, she started her career with Speech & Debate as a high school student under Vicki Thompson at Bentonville High School. Since then, she has served as the Director of Speech, Debate, and Theatre at Washington Junior High (2008-2011), Assistant Forensics Coach at Bentonville High School (2011-2013), Director of Debate at BHS (2019-2020), and is starting her 4th year as the Director of Speech & Debate at Bentonville West High School. During her tenure with the ACTAA community, Jessica has served as the Publicity & Promotions Chair since 2020, Nominations Committee Chair, member of the Arkansas State Tournament Committee, member of the ACTAA Student Congress Committee, and was recently elected to the NSDA District Committee. She currently serves as the Forensics Chair on the Executive Council. Jessica is excited at the possibility of serving on the Executive Council in this capacity with hopes of helping ACTAA move into a future where growth for all disciplines is the focus.
Only members registered at Fall Conference 2023 may vote for the ACTAA 2nd Vice President. Members have until 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, to vote. Results will be announced to the membership at the General Membership Bossiness Meeting 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
