Denim fabric was first produced in Nîmes, France, giving it the name “de Nîmes” (later shortened to denim).
The fabric was made of cotton twill, known for its strength and durability.
Birth of Jeans (1873)
Levi Strauss & Jacob Davis patented riveted denim pants for workers, creating the first-ever blue jeans.
These jeans became popular among miners, cowboys, and laborers due to their durability.
