Operating under the umbrella of the larger National Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (MSSN), one of the largest Muslim organizations in Nigeria, the MSSN UNILAG is a student-run organization that promotes Islamic values and provides religious, social, and educational services to Muslim students at the University of Lagos in Nigeria.

The branch engages in various activities to promote Islamic values, education, and community building among its members. Some of these activities include Tahfeedh Classes, Madrasah Sessions, Tuesday Programs (Fiqh Sessions, An-Nashrah) to spread contemporary knowledge, Faculty Forums every Wednesday, Dawah Camps, Tutorial Classes across all faculties, Sisters' Seminars and Ramadan Feeding among many other programs.
