For this project, we had to find different media using Creative Commons and credit them properly.
Landscape with Four Horses, George Morland uploaded by Art Gallery ErgsArt is licensed under CC Public Domain Mark 1.0 Universal
I found this image by searching "Renaissance Painting" on the Creative Commons website. I love the composition and lighting in this piece. I downloaded the original-sized version of this image from Flickr and uploaded it here.
This image is shared under CC Public Domain Mark 1.0 Universal. This means that there is no copyright (but the work may not be free of known copyright restrictions in certain areas) and that anyone can:
Share + Adapt - copy, modify, distribute, and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, without asking permission
The GIF I chose is a character named Umi from a game called Rental. I chose this because I played the game myself and enjoyed it a lot. I adore the old N64/PS1 low-polygon inspired graphics! I downloaded the GIF from Tumblr and uploaded it here.
I wasn't able to find licensing information/sharing limitations, I'll be crediting and linking the original source and using the TASL rule of thumb (Title, Author, Source, and License).

The audio sample presented is titled "110 BPM Industrial Drum Loop #13723 (WAV)". I downloaded this sound because I'm very fond of video game type of soundtracks.
I copied the code that was provided on the official site and embedded it on this site.
This media was shared under the CC by 4.0 license. This means that users can:
Share- copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
Adapt- remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
As long as you adhere to the following terms:
Attribution- You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
This is my chosen example of an embedded video. It's an upscaled 4k quality video of an opening theme song from a 90's OVA anime series called Shamanic Princess. I used to watch this when I was younger.
I copied the link from YouTube and embedded it using the link. There is no information listed about its licensing, so I will use the TASL rule of thumb again.

In this lesson, I learned that licenses can last up to 70 years after the creator dies. That is a long time, and it's very interesting to know about this. While I did know the general idea of what copyright was and why the laws were put in place, I did not know specific CC terminology and the different license types. I learnt about the TASL rule of thumb as well, which is used when no licensing information/sharing limitations are stated.
