Like with any sport or physical activity, there is always a risk of injury. However, there are many ways that you can mitigate risk. This can include the use of spotters, accurate self assessment, and working on progressions to build your practice in a sustainable/safe(r) way. Different people may need different things to be or feel safe; it's important to use clear communication to reduce the risk of injury.
Advocating for safety is a hugely important part of practicing acro. It is always okay to ask for a spot. It is always okay to ask for a specific person that you trust to spot you. It is always okay to say no to doing or spotting a skill.
