Visiting Montessori School/ attending lessons/ meeting with teachers/ discussing alternative ways of education

Day 1 – Course introduction & how to motivate students
Course introduction
• Introduction to the course, the school, and the external week activities;
• Icebreaker activities;
• Presentations of the participants’ schools.
How to motivate students
• Motivating students: top strategies;
• The Science of Creativity.
Day 2 – Thinking strategies
Promoting critical thinking among your students; • Visual and artful thinking strategies; • Designing your own visual/artful thinking project.
Day 3 – Integrating thinking strategies
Integrating visual/artful thinking strategies in your lesson plan;
• Fostering problem-solving skills: practical games;
• Active learning through ICT: not just consumers!
Becoming producers of technology (handson activity).
Day 4 – Enhancing through new methods
But is it really all about motivation? New methodologies for learning enhancement;
• Enhancing Creativity through ICT tools (hands-on activity);
• Fostering problem-solving and teamwork: practical games.
Day 5 – Get creative
• Mind Mapping: taking notes is fun!
• Promoting creative thinking: practical games;
• What’s your twist? Implementing what you’ve learned.
Day 6 – Course closure & cultural activities
Course evaluation: round up of acquired competences, feedback, and discussion;
• Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;

- Preparing students for group work: sharing and accepting norms
- Teambuilding: promoting sense of belonging and awareness of needs inside groups
- Analyzing group dynamics: promoting constructive group behaviors
- Practical group work, role plays and simulation to understand group dynamics

- Cultural activities in Bologna
Day 4

- Promoting meaningful contribution inside groups
- Strategies and tools for assigning roles in a team
- Focus on leadership: analysing Goleman's leadership styles
- Practical activities and collaborative problem solving exercises in groups
- Option cultural visit outside the venue’s city (for ex. Florence)

- The teacher as facilitator: improving observation skills
-Actively coaching students in the group learning process: tips, tools and strategies
- Focusing on the positive: fostering a growth mindset inside the group
- Practical activities, non-formal and experiential learning activities to facilitate group work

- Tips and guidelines tools to assess teamwork: formative assessment techniques
- Students’ self assessment and peer assessment strategies
- How to give constructive feedback to teams
- Practical group work and reflection exercises on feedback and assessment

- Space for discussion of future cooperation and planning follow up activities
- Course roundup and final evaluation
