A new SSVEP-BCI is here described, which uses a novel stimulation setup based on Depth-of-Field phenomenon. This BCI allows users to send commands by shifting their focus between two stimuli presented simultaneously in the center of the user's field of view at different distances. Offline results show that a clear SSVEP pattern can be elicited by the focused stimulus even if the non-focused stimulus is also present in the center of the field of view, providing conditions for feasible online applications.
