My main research focuses on topics related to banking and industrial organization, particularly in terms of how the market structure and market power in the banking sector may affect financial stability and consumer welfare, and how regulatory policy tools can be used to mitigate these impacts. In addition, I am interested in spatial competition models at the intersection of industrial organization and macroeconomics.Â
A secondary thread of my interests is related to studying macroeconomic vulnerabilities of emerging countries, such as sovereign debt management, exposure to commodity price shocks, and unequal regional growth.
I am a Peruvian Economist with professional experience in the private sector analyzing the macroeconomic outlook and industry perspectives (mining, agriculture, public infrastructure, retail markets, and consumption sectors), with additional experience in the public sector working in asset and liabilities management in the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Economics and Finance of Peru.
