ANKI Card 2  is a flashcard app for Mac that helps you study using spaced repetition. You can create decks, add basic or cloze-style cards, or draw hidden boxes over an image with Image Occlusion. Cards can include screenshots captured right from the app, and studying uses number keys 1–4 (or the space bar) to grade how well you remembered each answer.

You can import cards in bulk from a CSV file (one question and answer per line) or from another AnkiClone install using its JSON export. There's also a built-in prompt you can copy into ChatGPT or any AI chat to turn your own notes into a ready-to-import CSV file.

Your decks are stored as plain folders on your Mac, by default inside Documents/AnkiClone Library. You can point the app at a different folder at any time, including one synced through iCloud Drive, if you want your decks available on more than one Mac.

If something isn't working — screenshots not capturing, an import skipping cards, or anything else — email gatsbypha@gmail.com with a short description of what you were doing, and we'll help sort it out.

Marketing:

ANKI Card 2 brings spaced repetition to the Mac, built around how you actually study. Turn any screenshot into a flashcard in seconds, draw hidden boxes over a diagram to test yourself on it, or write cloze cards that blank out exactly the part you need to recall. Study with keyboard shortcuts fast enough to keep up with your thinking, and let the app handle when each card comes back.

Already have notes, a textbook chapter, or an old Anki deck? Turn them into flashcards in one step. AnkiClone includes a ready-to-use prompt for ChatGPT or any AI chat that converts your material straight into an importable file — no manual card-by-card typing required.

Your whole library lives in plain folders on your Mac, not locked in someone else's cloud. Organize decks into subdecks as your studying grows, track your progress with a daily streak and study heatmap, and study everything that's due across every deck in one sitting from a single dashboard.

Simple where it should be simple, and precise where it counts — AnkiClone is spaced repetition built for people who actually want to remember what they study.

Privacy Policy:

ANKI Card 2 does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your decks, cards, images, and study history are saved only on your own Mac, in a folder you control — nothing is sent to us or to any third party.

If you choose to save your library inside an iCloud Drive folder, syncing that data across your devices is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service under your own Apple ID, in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. AnkiClone itself has no visibility into that data and no server of its own to send it to.

The app requests Screen Recording permission solely to let you capture a region of your screen when you choose to add a screenshot to a flashcard. That image is saved directly to your local library folder and is never transmitted anywhere.

AnkiClone contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party data collection of any kind. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at gatsbypha@gmail.com.
