Meet Mrs. Maybee

I grew up in Riverton, Wyoming, which sits in a valley surrounded by the Wind River, Absaroka, and Owl Creek Mountains. My childhood was spent enjoying the outdoors with ice skating and snowmobiling during the winter and camping, fishing and riding motorcycles in the summer. 

My passion for teaching began at the University of Wyoming, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I started my teaching career in Seminole, Texas, before taking a 12-year break to focus on raising our three children. Twenty-five years ago, I returned to the classroom with Littleton Public Schools, where I had the privilege of teaching fourth and fifth grades. Most of my career was spent at Franklin Elementary, and I concluded my time in the district at Gudy Gaskill Elementary.

Committed to lifelong learning, I earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Regis University in 2021.

We have called Colorado home for the past 28 years and feel fortunate that our three adult children, Tyler, Katelynn, and Christine,  and their partners continue to live in  Colorado, allowing us to spend regular time together as a family. I especially enjoy watching our two grandchildren, Charlotte and Theo, participate in their sports and activities.

Outside of education, you'll often find me enjoying the Colorado mountains at our home in Fraser, Colorado, traveling with my husband to visit Major League Baseball stadiums and exploring new cities, or taking trips to other countries. I also enjoy reading fiction, cross-stitching, and and walking our Dalmation, Fraser.
