Actually, I already successfully install windows 10 on my C720. but I would like to give it to my brother then I reset windows10 using recovery in windows setting. after reset, windows boot up successfully. Hey guys, my touchpad isn't working most of the time when I reboot, though occasionally it'll stay persistent. I have an Acer Aspire E5-573G.

The touchpad does not show up in xinput at all when it's not working. To fix it, every single time I reboot I have to uninstall any touchpad driver (xf86-input-synaptics or xf86-input-libinput), reboot, reinstall one or both, and then reboot again.Sometimes it works through multiple reboots, most of the time, it breaks.

I've tried using i8042.kbdreset=1 as a kernel perimeter and have entered it both in config and in boot, neither work.

There are no config files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ for the touchpad and adding the synaptics config file does not remedy.

I'm on Gnome3 if that makes a difference. I get the same behavior from all my other UIs as well.

Thank you - I uninstalled both synaptics and evdev but no luck there. Having them all installed gave me the greatest success rate with having the touchpad work because AFAIK gnome defaults back to synaptics should libdev fail to load. I don't think it's a driver issue, moreso a detection issue, however, as it doesn't show up in xinput at all.

I just bought Acer Aspire V15 Nitro (VN7-591g) with Windows 8.1. I installed Ubuntu 14.04 and the touch-pad does not work! I even downgraded to 12.04, but the problem still remains. I guess that's a bug in the Linux kernel or there are no proper drivers at the moment. I hope some one will fix this soon.

Hi. I have the same problem with my asus Q504U keyboard and touchpad after a fresh reinstall of f32, but the problem start after the first dnf update. This means, if I keep f32 without update, everything works perfect. After the update, both keyboard and touchpad does not work at all and, in order to have access to my computer I either connect and external keyboard via usb or use the touchscreen keyboard ob my laptop. Keyboard and touchpad works once on bios, which is curious.
