Embodied Virtual Agents
[ACE Workshop] How Artificial Character Embodiment shapes User Affect in multi-modal Interactions
[ExpIVA Tutorial] Mastering HCI Experiments with IVAs:
A Comprehensive Guide to Technical Setup, Affect Recognition, Behaviour Management, and Evaluation
Join our interdisciplinary Tutorshop!
We welcome participants at any career stage!
This full-day Tutorshop has two parts:
Part 1: The ACE workshop brings together researchers, practitioners and experts on the topic of embodiment, to analyse and foster discussion on its effects on user behaviour in multi-modal interaction contexts. The workshop provides a platform for multidisciplinary discussions on the topic with current and future challenges. Keynote speakers Chloé Clavel and Katja Zibrek will share recent progress in the field.
Part 2: The ExpIVA tutorial is a hands-on experience in designing, implementing and evaluating experiments in which a user is interacting with a human-controlled Intelligent Virtual Agent. The team of computer scientists and psychologists will show example experiments and guide the participants in designing and implementing their own exemplary experiments.
