I had a problem with my s8 pus and have just moved to a s20 puls 5G and still have the same problem, my Accuweather widget just disappears, I have noticed that it seems to happen after I have used another app in landscape mode after rotating the phone back and closing the app the widget has vanashed, if I hold my finger in the area where the widget was I still get the resizing handles appear but the widget is invisable and the only ways to bring it back is to reset the phone or remove the widget from the screen and reinsert via the widget menu, very annoying and means I try to avoid using apps in landscape. I only get this happen with the Accuweather widget all the others arn't affected.

The latest reviews for the Accuweather widget, over on the Google Play Store, do not look encouraging with accusations of being slow to load, laggy, etc: See... =com.accuweather.android&showAllReviews=true

Got an LG G4 from Verizon running the latest Android Lollipop 5.1. I noticed when I click on the stock Weather widget to see forecast for the day, it defaults to the day after. Its annoying to tap left arrow to get to present day. Has anyone noticed the same bug? My LG GPad 8.3 tablet runs Lollipop 5.0.2 and the Weather widget runs fine. Present day. Any feedback or solutions is appreciated.

Hi all, I wonder what did Garmin changed to the Widget functionality of the new edge lineup.

E.g. I used the widget Accuweather on my edge 830. Very helpful to look for rain and wind direction/speed.

The same widget app doesn't appear on my 840 in the widgets, but only as IQ App. Practically not usable during an activity

Why is that, are there any 3rd party widgets for the new devices like 540, 840 and 1040?

I found out, I can access 3rd party widgets during an activity: pull down widgets=>settings=>scroll down to Connect IQ=>there are all 3rd party widgets, you can access during an activity too. But what the h*ll?

Using glances during an activity is also anything but convinient: tap screen=> tap home icon=> search through all the glances=> tap your glance=> tap back=> scroll up=> tap activity profile to go back to your data screens.

really?!

just as example on the older SDK devices like 830 it was: swipe down=> swipe left or right to your widget=> swipe up. Done

I think much of the issue here is naming. On the Edge, the pages you can load with a down swipe are called widgets, but you could never add CIQ widgets to this list. These are really more analogous to Controls on the watches, which have never had CIQ support - unfortunately.

as for today, you can not bring your app into widgets on the 40 lineup. all the widget apps are listed in the connect IQ as apps. you can though make your app as glance on the main screen. but the widgets are now locked for garmin's widgets only. no 3rd party apps.

Oh, wow, wtf. I just got an 840 yesterday and the UI changes have been shocking enough, but I use this widget all the time. It's usually what shows when I pull down. I'm leaning closer and closer to returning the 840 and instead refurbishing my 830, and I haven't even ridden with it yet.

I am facing an annoying problem due to the widget called "accuweather.com". It pops up while I'm using applications on my phone (Samsung galaxy s2 with gingerbread 2.3.5). I can't uninstall it because the option isn't there, it is not a "downloaded" app but appears on the screen of all applications. When opening it there is an option to stop it (it runs as a service) but not to uninstall it, and shortly after stopping it, it would run again.

What widget are you using to try and get the weather on the screen?

Is the clock a part of the weather widget? if so then it looks like a problem with the app or the app is failing to access the weather site.

Alrighty. I dug about a bit, and by that I mean I borrowed a friend's Gear S3 and talked to them about theirs. After shifting about, because their widget was showing both Celsius AND Fahrenheit, I think we found the answer! Try looking at your phone, Gear Manager App>Settings>Apps>Next to Weather there will be a Settings icon(gear)>Unit. That 'Unit' can be changed from C to F.

I have the widget showing when scrolling with the bezel. By default, the widget view shows a summary of the weather. When you tap on this screen, it opens the primary AccuWeather app. By 'Menu Key', I assume you mean the three dots that show on certain screens. This is not an option on either the summary weather widget view, or the primary AccuWeather app screens.

When I tap on the weather widget and the Accuweather app opens, there are no menu dots. I have scrolled from top to bottom; honestly there is no menu option. That was the first thing I looked for when I encountered the issue. I am familiar with the menu dots that appear on some apps, but the Accuweather app does not have that on my watch, honest!

Aside:

The "Commodities" widget for Dashboard also quit working properly back at the end of November. Looks like it, too, no longer connects to the server source that it used to. A few of the commodity items work (like gold and silver), but others don't.

I don't expect this to ever work again, either.

The Accuweather site has a message that "The free weather widget from AccuWeather is no longer available. We will be upgrading it with a new weather embed in the coming months." The wording makes me wonder if the new "embed" will be a Web page widget rather than a Desktop one.

The stock AccuWeather widget on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is great if you want a super quick way to see the current time, date, and weather forecast for your area, but personally, its design just doesn't do it for me. It's big and bulky and I find that the background weather imagery is distracting.

As for which weather widget you want on your home screen, you can choose from nine different ones, as I mentioned before. Below, I've linked out to three of them which show off the different transparencies, fonts, and effects.

Using Root Browser (or any other root-level file explorer), copy and paste whichever file you downloaded from Step #2 above over to the /system/app folder. Now scroll up and find the files for "AccuweatherPhone2013.apk" and "AccuweatherPhone2013.odex," which are for the stock weather widget.

While you could just delete the files, it's better to keep a copy of them on your device for safe keeping, in case you ever want to revert back. Press down on each file, select "Rename," and add ".bak" to the end of both of them to disable the widget and keep the files safely in your storage.

Just as mentioned above in Step #3, to go back to your stock weather widget, just delete the new "AccuweatherPhone2013.apk" file and take off the ".bak" extensions from the two original files you renamed. Afterward, reboot your device and you're set.

Based on Adobe Air, AccuWeather.com Stratus is a neat looking transparent widget that floats on your desktop wherever you drag it. Clicking the calendar button opens a simple five day forecast, which can be toggled between night and day, Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Step 4: Customize your weather widget

After selecting the weather feed source, you can customize various aspects of your weather widget. This includes choosing the layout, color scheme, font style, and size. You can also add additional elements such as location names and temperature units.

Step 7: Preview and test the widget

After embedding the code, preview your website to see how the weather widget looks and functions. Test its responsiveness and ensure that it displays accurate weather information.

By showcasing multiple types of weather widgets on your website, you can provide visitors with a comprehensive view of the current and forecasted weather conditions in an engaging and visually appealing manner. ff782bc1db
