I am an author, an inspirational speaker and a domestic violence counsellor. My book, Black and Blue Sari, is a true story about the cost of leaving a toxic relationship and how the transition can empower you and those around you. Domestic violence is an epidemic that leaves no community unaffected; one in every four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
I have spoken in Ottawa for the Immigration Parliamentary Committee as well as for the Department of Justice on honor-based violence and honor-based killings. My talks inspired Bill S-7.
Vancouver TheatreSports™ League is Vancouver’s #1 improv comedy company and a well-respected international leader in the art form – recognized for producing some of the most daring and innovative improv comedy anywhere with a style that is a highly theatrical fusion of the dramatic elements of comedy and tragedy coupled with the enthusiasm and edge-of-your-seat excitement of professional sport.

I have been married to Milton for 43 years, and together we have seven children and five grandchildren. I have been counselling for 20 years, and I am the owner of Bridge Counseling, a group private practice in Saskatoon. I started Bridge Counseling from an office in my basement and have grown the practice into a thriving business. I taught myself Html in order to create my first websites. I have built two houses and a cabin with my husband, and I am pretty handy with a power saw and a nail gun. I served on the CPCA board for five years, was one of the founding members of ACCT and on the ACCT board for five years, serving as President for two of those years. Currently, I am the Past President.
I own my own private practice, where I work in the capacity of a counsellor, supervisor and workshop facilitator. I am also employed as an instructor and senior educational administrator for Clearmind International Institute. My passions are transpersonal and family system psychology and I have been in the field of counselling for over 10 years. Before changing careers, my background was nursing, with 15 years of management in not-for-profit mental health and disability services.
I am ACCT's representative at FACT-BC.
