The HPW Online course goes live in September each year and builds week by week to slowly reveal the various factors that make Earth the only planet we know to be habitable. Students progress from week to week by succeeding at the online tests. This is the place to come to find all the latest info!

The elves have been busy awarding marks for the intro exercise on the EMP. If you don't have yours do give DC a DM.
This week there is the first exam. It will be available on Friday. Please ensure you use your exam number, else you won't get marks.
Week 2 has the most work of any week, some of it can be watched later (this is indicated). Please note it gets less busy from here!

Announcements this week:
The HPW Online Marks Portal is now open. Please hop over there to find your exam number (needed for all HPW tasks). Please write it down and keep it safe this week as it will not be displayed from next week on. Your exam number is NOT the row number and begins with a '#'.
Week 1 FAQs:
"My name isn't on the Marks Portal?" - Make sure you have searched the whole list and refresh/try another device (a PC is best) to ensure the whole list has loaded fully. If you have tried all those things and still no luck, please DM the DC with a screenshot of your submitted application form and he will fix it*.
"I appear twice on the Marks Portal?" - Just use one exam number and stick with it. Your alter-ego will fail with 0, but you will be fine :)
Can I DM or email my video instead of post?" - only with permission from DC due to extenuating circumstances. You can drop him a DM about this.
* If you contact DC to say your name is not on the list, and it turns out it was, then ACCESS will take the soul of your first-born child in compensation. Check carefully before you contact him.

*HPW50 (Eastern Cape) Criteria
*HPW50 (Eastern Cape) Criteria
This online course constitutes the primary selection tool to determine who attends the 50th Habitable Planet Workshop in the Eastern Cape (HPW50). To be eligible to attend this event, you must meet the following minimum criteria: (i) be over 18 years old, (ii) have not previously attended a physical undergraduate HPW and (iii) be based in South Africa, or able to travel to South Africa, to meet our travel booking from within the country.
If you meet these criteria, then your grade in the HPW online course constitutes the primary selection criteria for attending. From those who meet these criteria, the top 25 participants (based on weekly test scores), will be automatically invited to join HPW50. ACCESS may also offer places to more than these 25 participants. These additional places may be awarded based on test scores and/or selected in order to ensure equitable gender/demographic or institutional representation.
