Acapais

“aca” meaning “here”, “now”, “lasting”, or “always” originates from the Portuguese and Spanish word “aqui” meaning here. “pais” meaning “peace” originates from old French and the Latin syllable “pax”.

Though the name “Acapais” has subtly different meanings, the most commonly held meanings are “Peaceful Place” or “Lasting Peace”.

Population

The population estimate for 2022 is 24.667 billion citizens and increases regularly due to the open and progressive immigration policy of the state.

Acapais is known for its diverse population. With white Acapasians having the largest representation making up 42% of the total population, no single race or ethnic group holds a quantitative majority. Black Acapaisians represent 31% of the population while Hispanic or Latino Acapaisians represent 18%.

Approximately 84% of the nation’s people live in urban areas (including suburbs), the largest three being Cyrene, Circesium, and Ulpia Novo

Government

Acapais is considered a devolved republic. With three main branches of government, Acapais is divided into the Legislative branch, the Executive branch, and the Judicial branch.

The legislative powers are given to the National Congress, a bicameral legislative body. The upper house called the Senate is currently composed of #need seats. Each state is given a number of seats proportional to its population. The lower house called the House of Representatives is currently composed of #need seats. Each seat represents a portion of the population.

Executive powers are given to the Chief Executive who is both head of state and head of government. The Chief Executive is elected by the people of Acapais via instant run-off for a single term with a length of 7 years. The Chief Executive is limited to a single term and may never again be elected after either completion of their term, resignation, or removal from office.

Judicial powers are given to the High Court. The High Court may review laws passed by the National Congress and actions taken by the Chief Executive. Upon review, the High Court may declare them illegal. Justices of the High Court are appointed by the Chief Executive with confirmation from the Senate for a single term of 30 years. Justices of the High Court are limited to a single term and may never again be appointed after either completion of their term, resignation, or removal from the court.

Foreign Relations

Acapais’s official and legal presence in the World Assembly occasionally fluctuates, and currently resides in the Peaceful Republic of Acapais.

Acapais holds a citizenry level position in the region of [url=region=europeia]Europeia[/url] and participates in the main legislative body.

Economy

The Acapais economy is one of the world's strongest due to its high volume of natural resources and high productivity. The economy is considered mixed capitalism where 83% of it is privately owned. Industry is heavily regulated. Corporate taxes are progressive. The entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in the working culture of Acapais as citizens frequently start businesses.
