Dr. Frank Volpe, Upper School Principal

Dear ACAMIS athletes, coaches and supporters,

On behalf of SCIS’s Upper School, I would like to welcome coaches, players, and visiting families to the ACAMIS Orange Division Volleyball Tournament. We recognize the important role these events play in the experience of our students and we are excited to host this event at SCIS-Pudong.

We are eager to share the SCIS spirit and culture of International Mindedness with the visiting teams. We wish all of the teams the best of luck on the court and a great experience off the court. At SCIS, we frequently talk about the importance of creating shared experiences as the glue that holds our community together. We look forward to this shared experience as an opportunity to expand our community across the ACAMIS region.

Vic Caban, Athletics and Activities Coordinator

Dear ACAMIS athletes, coaches and supporters,

On behalf of the entire Shanghai Community International School family, welcome to the 2018 ACAMIS Orange Division Volleyball Championship! We are very excited and honored to have our newly created Orange Division schools here on our campus for what I am sure will be a great weekend of volleyball.

My sincere hope is that all of the participating student-athletes leave with lifelong memories and the seeds for lifelong friendships. Although we are here to compete, let us remember that we are not enemies, but merely adversaries, who will bring out the best in each other in the true spirit of sportsmanship. As Jesse Owens once said:

“Friendships are born on the field of athletic strife and [are] the real gold of competition. Awards become corroded, friends gather no dust.”

Play hard, play fair, and make new friends! All the best to everyone!!
