Founded in 2018, the Academia against Corruption in the Americas (ACA) has become a leading forum for academic and civil society collaboration on corruption research and education in the region. The conference brings together scholars, educators, and practitioners from across the Americas in a multilingual, interdisciplinary, and inclusive space.
The three main goals of the ACA are:
ACA seeks to provide a dedicated space for scholars from diverse fields—such as political science, economics, sociology, law, public administration, and journalism—to present, discuss, and refine their work. ACA promotes rigorous and innovative academic inquiry that addresses the region’s unique challenges.
ACA promotes the integration of corruption-related content into higher education by encouraging the development and exchange of teaching tools, courses, and pedagogical strategies. ACA supports faculty in embedding corruption and anti-corruption topics into university curricula to strengthen students’ civic and ethical awareness.
ACA fosters connections among researchers, educators, and civil society actors across North, Central, and South America. Through its annual conference, online forums, and active social media presence, ACA facilitates collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge exchange that extend beyond the event itself.
