Our LGVA Fundraiser All Skills Camp is this week at the Chris Huber Gym:
Incoming Freshmen (5-7 pm)
Returning Students (7-9 pm)
If you haven't registered yet, please arrive as early as 4:30 pm on the first day and you can register in-person ($300 fee). It will be warm in the gym, so please being a full water bottle and get a fast and fun training experience in advance of tryouts!
3-day tryouts will be held on August 10th, 11th and 12th at the Acalanes Chris Huber Gym:
- August 10th (Dons Day): Freshmen (4:00-5:45 pm); Sophomores (6:00-7:30 pm); Juniors/Seniors (7:30-9 pm)
- August 11th: Freshmen (4:00-5:45 pm); Sophomores (6:00-7:30 pm); Juniors/Seniors (7:30-9 pm)
- August 12th: Freshmen (4:00-5:15 pm); Sophomores (5:15-6:30 pm); Juniors/Seniors (6:30-7:45 pm)

Coach Haley and Coach Alan

Haley is in her eighth year as Varsity Head Coach, along with supporting the JV team as an Assistant Coach, and Co-Head Coaching the Freshman Team this year. During the upcoming 2027 club season, Haley will be coaching at NorCal Volleyball Club.
She had a highly successful collegiate volleyball career playing at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ and at Portland State University in Oregon where she was a two-time Big Sky Fall All-Academic honoree in 2016 and 2017. She is a Las Lomas HS graduate where she played Defensive Specialist/Libero and Outside Hitter and was on the NCS Division II Championship team in 2012, followed by achieving 2nd team All-League in 2013, and 1st team All-League and MVP in 2014.
Haley is excited to continue to bring her passion for volleyball, competition and the value of teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship to Acalanes. She also helps supervise the Acalanes Female Athletic Board (FAB) to advance gender equity in sports and to empower girls overall.
Alan is in his eighth year as the JV Head Coach, along with serving as the Varsity Assistant Coach and Co-Head Coach of the Freshman Team this year. He also oversees setter development for the entire Acalanes program. He has AOCV Head Coach and Setter Coach Certifications, IMPACT Certification from USA Volleyball, and SafeSport certification. Alan also will be coaching at NorCal Volleyball Club for the upcoming 2027 season.
Alan previously helped coach Boys Volleyball at Acalanes. He is also Past President for the Lafayette Girls Volleyball Association (LGVA) that is committed to promote development of girls volleyball in Lamorinda and is a core supporter of the Acalanes Women's Volleyball Program. Alan has also served as a team physician for our Varsity, JV and Freshman teams, and he has previously coached women's teams in the Bay Area.
Alan previously played as a setter and outside hitter, and he is an avid learner and enthusiastic teacher of volleyball techniques and strategies, as well as mental toughness, resilience, and injury prevention. Alan is committed to create a positive team culture, to strengthen individual connections, and to improve individual skills and team performance while deepening a love for the game.
