The University at Buffalo will host the 57th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 57) on May 21-23, 2026. ACAL 57 is co-organized by members of the department of Linguistics at the University at Buffalo, the department of Linguistics at the University of Rochester, and the department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University.
The Third Conference on Bantoid Languages and Linguistics (Bantoid 3) will be co-located with ACAL 57 at the University at Buffalo, just before ACAL 57 on May 19-21, 2026.

Early deadline for visa applicants: October 15, 2025
Dates apply to both conferences.
If you will require a visa to enter the United States for the conference, we encourage you to submit by the early (October) deadline.
