MEGG'S DREAM FOR AN EDTECH PLAN
The Office of Educational Technology at the New Hampshire Department of Education strongly encourages the development of district technology plans that focus technology priorities towards the infrastructure necessary to promote teaching, learning, assessing and producing powered with technology (Home | Technology Planning Toolkit | NHEON, 2017).
Londonderry School District will benefit from the design, build, and implementation of a technology integration professional development program. Technology integration coach(es) will help our district and schools become future-ready by designing and modeling sound pedagogical practices designed to strengthen teacher instructional capacity. The Teachers Academy revolves around innovative, learner-driven curriculum that meets teachers where they are and supports their professional growth (Future Ready, 2020).
Providing meaningful professional learning for Londonderry School District's teachers is important for their ongoing acquisition of EdTech teaching skills, which in turn, benefit their students. Just as students learning with digital tools need time and support, teachers, too, need investment in professional learning (Office of Educational Technology, 2018). Prioritizing professional learning, fostering collaboration in our teaching community, and providing access to shared resources align with the school district's 2019-2024 Strategic Plan. Strengthening a proactive and positive culture for all is a priority of the district, and educator competence and confidence are crucial in making this a reality.
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: Enhance personalized, equitable student learning experiences with technology
Personalized Professional Development: Support innovative professional learning with technology; grow competence and confidence in teachers
Collaborative & Innovative Leadership: Create cultures of change through innovative leadership practices that strengthen a proactive and positive culture for Londonderry's educators
