Description: The University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press seeks a service oriented, proactive, and collaborative individual who is passionate about helping current and future scientists to join our liaison team as the Foundational Sciences Liaison Librarian. To support increased interdisciplinarity across the sciences, this crucial new position will serve as liaison to core science disciplines in the College of Arts and Sciences, with a particular focus on undergraduate information literacy and research. Reporting to the Head of the Research and Engagement Department, this position has responsibility for the provision of instruction, collection development and research support in assigned subject areas. This position will have the opportunity to work with peers and with the Research and Engagement department head to develop strategies and assessment for library outreach to undergraduate researchers in the sciences and will work collaboratively with other liaison librarians and specialists both within and outside of the sciences team.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in library science and undergraduate degree in STEM field; advanced degree in STEM field with relevant work experience in an academic or research library; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of information sources related to biological sciences and chemistry research
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment and workplace, and an ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
Experience supporting undergraduate student researchers, preferred
Experience teaching and assessing student learning in multiple modalities, preferred
Experience supporting advanced researchers in the sciences in an academic setting, preferred

Description: The Scholarly Communications Librarian develops and implements library initiatives in support of scholarly publishing and digital scholarship by the Jefferson University community. The Scholarly Communications Librarian works closely with other Jefferson Library and Academic Commons (AC) staff to facilitate the use of Library and AC resources and services for scholarly publishing and digital scholarship creation by faculty and students on the East Falls campus. They conduct workshops and other programming on scholarly publishing and the promotion of published works, digital scholarship and data management best practices to students, faculty, and academic departments, specifically as it pertains to the East Falls Archives, Special Collections, and other East Falls academic departments.
Requirements:
2 or more years’ experience teaching or leading workshops on information management skills in an academic library setting.
Understanding of the scholarly information process, including the emerging areas and trends in scholarly communications, digital publishing, digital scholarship, and the functions of an institutional repository.
Effective oral and written communications skills; including the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and faculty on various projects and library services.
Collaborative approach to outreach and problem solving and working across organizational departments in service of user needs.
