With Twitter rapidly imploding, some of us are tentatively (or eagerly) migrating elsewhere. But with different usernames across platforms, and with worries about impersonation, it can be difficult to know which accounts to follow and trust. 

This site is intended to help fill that gap by providing a list of verified academic/academic-adjacent scholars, along with their social media account names. The people included in the list first completed a form providing their professional email address, their Twitter username, and their other platform username(s); next, they were asked to verify their professional email and confirm by email that they agreed to be included in this list. 

The website and the list are currently maintained by Jess Calarco, a Sociologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Twitter username @JessicaCalarco, Threads/Instagram username @JessCalarco. 

Verification is an imperfect process. I will do my best to ensure that the list is accurate and up to date. However, if you notice errors, please contact: twitteracademic@gmail.com
