Bringing Advanced Simulation to Model United Nations

Command: Modern Operations (CMO) is a professional-grade military simulation developed by WarfareSims and published by Slitherine Ltd. It is designed to simulate modern military operations across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains, allowing users to manage complex situations while accounting for factors such as intelligence, logistics, resources, and operational capabilities.

Our Model United Nations program incorporates CMO into select crisis committees to create a more authentic, dynamic, and high-stakes simulation. Instead of relying solely on debate and written directives, delegates must make decisions within a constantly evolving environment and respond to the consequences of their actions.

At our Model United Nations program, we use Command: Modern Operations (CMO) to take crisis committees beyond traditional debate and into a dynamic, simulation-based environment.

CMO is a sophisticated tactical and operational simulation that models complex real-world environments, allowing participants to make decisions while accounting for factors such as intelligence, logistics, communications, resources, and rapidly changing circumstances.

We integrate CMO into select MUN committees to create a more authentic, unpredictable, and high-stakes experience. Rather than simply discussing what their characters or governments would do, delegates must make decisions within a continuously evolving environment where their choices can produce immediate consequences.

Why We Use CMO

Traditional MUN often centers around speeches, negotiations, directives, and resolutions. CMO adds another dimension: operational decision-making.

Delegates may have to respond to changing intelligence, unexpected developments, limited resources, and competing priorities. This forces them to think beyond their next speech and consider the broader consequences of their decisions.

The result is a committee where strategy, communication, adaptability, and judgment matter just as much as diplomacy.

A Rare Opportunity

Our program is among the very few high school Model UN programs to incorporate access to CMO into committee simulations. We use this technology to push the boundaries of what a high school MUN experience can look like, giving delegates an opportunity to engage with a level of simulation and decision-making rarely found in traditional conferences.

CMO doesn't replace Model UN. It makes the decisions within Model UN matter.
