If you want a durable, fast-charging cable specifically engineered for the latest Apple earbuds and headsets, choose Abysssea Airpods Pro 2nd/3rd; if you need to listen to your favorite tunes while charging a modern smartphone with no single port left to spare, choose SIXSIM USB C.
These two products serve completely different roles in a rider's gear bag, yet they often get confused because both wear the "USB-C" label. One is a power delivery system designed to keep your audio devices running during long rides, while the other is a bridge that restores functionality to phones lacking traditional headphone jacks. For a motorcycle enthusiast looking for best open ear earbuds for motorcycle setups or those seeking reliable on ear headphones for motorcycle compatibility, understanding this distinction is critical. You cannot use a cable to plug into an aux jack, nor can you expect an adapter to charge a pair of wireless buds directly without a power source. The decision comes down to whether your priority is maintaining the life of your audio hardware or ensuring you can hear navigation and music simultaneously on a device that has lost its analog ports.
• Abysssea Airpods Pro 2nd/3rd: Its biggest strength is the MFi-certified safety chip and high-current handling (up to 3A) designed specifically for Apple ecosystem devices, but it is strictly a charging accessory with no audio output capabilities.
• SIXSIM USB C: Its biggest strength is the 2-in-1 design allowing simultaneous 60W PD charging and Hi-Fi audio playback via a 3.5mm jack, though it offers no data transfer and requires a compatible phone with USB-C audio support.
• Who is this for?: The Abysssea pick is for riders who own AirPods Pro or Max and need a safe, woven cable to keep their power bank topped up or their buds charged quickly. The SIXSIM pick is for iPhone 15/16/17 or Samsung S24/S25 users who refuse to buy wireless dongles and need to charge while using wired headphones.
The Abysssea charger is built with a singular purpose: to deliver power safely to Apple's latest audio hardware. Looking at the specifications, this isn't just a generic wire; it features a woven construction that suggests durability against the elements, which matters when you are packing gear into a saddlebag or helmet compartment. The core selling point here is the inclusion of an Apple MFi Certified Chip. This certification ensures the cable communicates correctly with the device to regulate voltage and current, preventing the kind of power surges that could damage expensive electronics like the AirPods Pro 2 or the upcoming Pro 3 models.

This allows for rapid charging cycles, meaning you can get more juice into your buds in less time before heading out for a ride. The cable also supports fast data transmission at 480 Mbps/s, though for most riders, this is secondary to the ability to keep their audio alive. The outer material is copper, which aids in efficient conductivity and heat dissipation. If you are someone who relies heavily on the noise cancellation and transparency modes of Apple earbuds while riding, having a charger that guarantees safe, stable power delivery is essential.
This product is ideal for the dedicated Apple user who owns multiple devices in the ecosystem, such as an iPhone 17 series, iPad, or the new AirPods Max 2. It is also perfect for those who travel frequently and need a cable that feels robust enough to withstand being tossed around in a backpack. However, if you do not own Apple audio gear, or if your primary concern is connecting wired headphones to a phone that lacks a headphone jack, this cable will sit unused. It is a specialized tool for power, not a universal solution for connectivity. You should skip this if you are looking for an adapter that lets you listen to music while driving your car or riding your bike, as it does not have an audio output port.
The SIXSIM adapter takes a different approach by solving the "one port left" problem found on many modern smartphones. By splitting a single USB-C connection into two distinct paths—a power input and a 3.5mm audio output—it allows riders to maintain a full battery while listening to high-fidelity audio through standard wired headphones. The standout feature here is the support for 60W Power Delivery (PD). This is a significant jump from standard charging speeds, meaning you can plug this into a fast wall charger and keep your phone fully powered even while streaming GPS maps or playing high-quality tracks.
Audio quality is another major focus for this device. The built-in DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) supports up to 16-bit/192KHz or 24-bit/96KHz resolution, ensuring that the sound you hear is clean and free from the electrical interference often associated with cheap adapters. This is crucial for motorcyclists who rely on clear audio cues from their navigation systems or music playlists. The adapter works with a wide range of Android and iOS devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 series. It also handles volume control and call answering directly through the connected headphones, provided the device supports these functions over the adapter.
This product is perfect for the rider who prefers the reliability of a wired connection over Bluetooth, perhaps due to concerns about latency or battery drain on the headphones themselves. It is also the go-to choice for those with older, high-quality wired headphones that they don't want to replace with new wireless ones. The lightweight design, weighing just under 8 grams, makes it easy to tuck away in a pocket or glove box. However, you must note that it does not support data transfer. If you plan to sync files or use the port for anything other than audio and power, this adapter will not work for you. Additionally, it requires a specific setup where the charging cable and headphone plug are inserted into the adapter before plugging the whole unit into the phone to ensure stability.
• Best for Apple Ecosystem Charging → Abysssea Airpods Pro 2nd/3rd: If you own AirPods Pro, Max, or similar Apple audio gear, the MFi certification and 3A current handling make this the safer, faster choice for keeping them powered.

• Best for Universal Phone Compatibility → SIXSIM USB C: Works with almost any modern Android or iPhone with a USB-C port, unlike the Abysssea cable which is optimized for Apple devices.
• Best for Motorcycle Safety Features → Abysssea Airpods Pro 2nd/3rd: The multi-function protection technology is highlighted specifically for night-time charging safety, reducing risks of overheating.
For the vast majority of riders, I would choose the SIXSIM USB C. The reality of modern smartphones is that they rarely have enough ports to charge and play music at the same time, especially when using high-quality wired headphones. Having a 60W PD pass-through ensures your navigation stays on and your battery doesn't die mid-ride, which is a critical safety factor. While the Abysssea cable is excellent for keeping Apple gear charged, it doesn't solve the immediate connectivity bottleneck that most motorcyclists face daily. That said, if you already rely entirely on wireless AirPods and just need a replacement cable, the Abysssea option is the superior, safer bet for your Apple devices. Both tools have their place, but the SIXSIM adapter unlocks functionality that would otherwise be impossible on newer phones.
It works with iPhone 15, 16, and 17 series models that use USB-C, as well as older Lightning models if paired with a separate Lightning-to-USB-C converter, but it does not support data transfer.
No, the SIXSIM adapter is designed for phones and laptops to charge and play audio; it cannot charge wireless earbuds directly like the Abysssea cable is designed to do.
Yes, the Abysssea cable supports up to 20 watts and 3 amps, making it suitable for fast charging compatible Apple devices and audio gear.
The Abysssea cable is rated for indoor and outdoor usage, while the SIXSIM adapter's specific IP rating is not detailed in the specs, so extreme weather exposure should be minimized for both.
