Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We honour the land, history, ways of being, and our relationships with First Nation, Métis, and Inuit people as relationships of reconciliation, respect, understanding, and healing.

AB WIL Timeline
In collaboration with the Alberta Services for Students Conference (ASSC), the AB WIL Practitioners hosted a 1-day conference to discuss institutional WIL policies and processes.
Our membership had grown to 15 post-secondaries represented at our meetings and we were now including short presentations from members about their work in WIL.
Our first meeting sparked big interest in regular get-togethers. With each meeting, more participants joined, eager to learn from others and share their experiences in administering, reporting, and teaching Work-Integrated Learning (WIL).
After meeting in a presentation at the Alberta Services for Students Conference (ASSC), Kim and Andrea conceived the idea of creating a space for connection and collaborative learning among WIL (Work-Integrated Learning) practitioners across Alberta’s post-secondary institutions.
