The Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers will undertake the following steps to ensure that applicants are notified of the Grant Committee’s decision regarding their applications.
The list of awardees will be published on all social/public media;
Issue a letter to the applicant shortly after the final decision has been made by the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers.
Recipients must contact the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers within three (3) months of the date of the award, indicating their acceptance or non-acceptance of the award.
Failure to respond to the notification within the three-month (3) period will result in automatic lapse of the award.
Recipients must commence studies within two (2) months of receipt of disbursement.
Recipients are not allowed to use the disbursement to finance any course other than that was approved by the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers.
The Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers will be monitoring all recipients throughout the final year of study.
All recipients must provide the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers with verification of registration within one month of registration.
Recipients of grants are not allowed, for any reason, to retain the sums issued to them by the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers for a period exceeding two (2) months prior to entering the institution of learning.
Recipients are not allowed, under any circumstances, to utilize any part of the funds issued to them for any other purpose or programme of study than that specified when the grant was issued.
Upon completion of the program of study, all students are required to submit a copy of their certificate, diploma, or degree to the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers. Thus, awardees must complete their program of study within a maximum of one (1) year of the scheduled completion date.
Any awardee who receives full scholarships from other funding agencies automatically forfeit the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers Grant and must return all monies already issued to them.
Selection of grant is entirely the responsibility of the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers
Applicants must have at least a cumulative B average or GPA of at least 3.
Withdrawal from any programme of study without permission from the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers or legitimate reasons (e.g., illness, serious family emergency) will be grounds for initiating sanctions or penalties on said applicant. Reimbursement of all funds issued to you or on your behalf plus twelve (12%) percent interest per annum.
Failure to complete the programme of study within the time stipulated without permission from the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers or legitimate reasons (e.g., illness, serious family emergency) will be grounds for initiating sanctions or penalties on said applicant. Namely, Reimbursement of all funds issued to you or on your behalf plus nine (9%) percent interest per annum.
Recipients must submit a copy of their completion letter no later than three (3) months after the end of their last/final semester.
