Termites can fit through very small cracks and start gnawing away at untreated structural and decorative timbers. The best time to build your defence is during the design phase. We will happily consult with you or your architect/designer/builder to make sure the defences are selected, sourced and installed appropriately.
If construction is already under way, then let's have a brief conversation to determine what's possible at each stage of the build.
New homes:
There are very effective pest and termite defences that can be built into your home from day one. It is worth consulting an independent professional to get the best advice.
Renovations:
Be careful to replace any termite defences that are disturbed during renovations.
It is best to check for any new and improved barriers that may come at a lower price.
Remediation:
Broken pipes, cracks in floor and shifting foundations can all create opportunities for termites to enter your building. Please make sure that appropriate defences are installed during repairs to ensure your castle is not breached.
We will happily consult and engage on any building work - new, renovations or repairs.
Managing pests is not a function of an annual spray from your local Flick Man. There are steps you can take regularly to reduce the likelihood of infestation thereby saving you money.
The more we can all do to organically manage pests, the healthier our homes, families and environment will be.
But first:
If you choose to apply off-the-shelf chemicals, then read the MSDS, make sure you wear appropriate PPE and shower thoroughly afterwards.
Don't apply chemicals where children might play.
Use minimal concentrations, apply lightly and repeat over several weeks.
And add "pest management" to your monthly preventative maintenance schedule, not your annual corrective maintenance plan.
The following measures will help reduce your annual costs.

It is imperative to kill the queen in order to kill the colony.
Spraying for termites might buy a few weeks of peace before that nocturnal gnawing starts again.
Termites are communal insects with all sorts of structured, territorial behaviour. They march as one and devour by rank and do all in their power to preserve the queen and colony.
Our comprehensive training and experience has taught us to bait the tunnels and kill the queen, thereby removing the threat for another year.
Our bait stations are placed in strategic locations to intercept the marching armies and carry the poison back to the colony.
It's not quite as dramatic as Game of Thrones, but the kingdoms are vast, the women are strong and the territorial stakes are high.
We use state of the art Termatrac T3i technology - the world's most advanced termite detector.
We are the only credited pest management company within 100kms of Atherton that have this termite detection device available. The tool is so powerful in its radar, thermal & moisture sensors, that it can assist in the detection of termites hiding inside a wall. This enables us to confirm movement before recommending any invasive action.
Annual Calibration
T3i devices are annually calibrated and listed on T3i Locators on the Termatrac website for Homeowners to locate their local T3i Certified technician.
Once calibrated, units are tested for quality and accuracy and issued with calibration certificates. Please ask to see our certificate.
Flir Thermal Imaging Camera
Ideal for detecting termite pathways in walls, floors and connecting tunnels. Termites love to keep their nest and tunnels operating at 30-32*C.
We're currently developing our expertise and capacity in this important need.
We will report back soon with a plan.
I can offer you indicative prices over the phone based on your description of the problem.
My preference is to inspect the property and understand all the environmental elements and give you a comprehensive pest management plan with options.
General pest treatments last somewhere from 3-12 twelve months, depending on the problem, the treatment and the season.
Please note: Termite baits take time to kill the colony. We inspect the baits periodically (with your permission) to look at the consumption rate and then top them up. Bait stations and baits are listed in our management plan.
Pre-purchase property inspections start at $440.
Inspections are conditional on the following pre-engagement T&Cs.
I look forward to meeting you and understanding how to best protect your property.
Sincerely,
Eddie Pearce
